HAPPENING NOW—UPDATE ON GEORGIA COUNT: Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger holds an update on the state’s effort to count every vote. As of 10:20 am EST, Joe Biden leads in Georgia by more than 14,000 votes. President Trump and his allies, attempting to explain away their loss of a typically red state, have alleged widespread voter fraud, for which they have offered no evidence of in Georgia or in any other state where Trump trails Biden. ‘We haven’t found any widespread fraud,’ Raffensperger said. ‘We will investigate every single case that voters bring to us.’ Raffensperger, a Republican, has been caught in the middle of a political battle over election results. This week, both of Georgia’s senators—Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, who are both facing scrutiny for financial decisions made after attending confidential briefings on the pandemic—called on Raffensperger to resign after they both failed to clear 50% of the vote in their elections, meaning both would have to compete in runoffs in January. ‘That is not going to happen,’ Raffensperger said of their calls for his resignation. ‘The voters of Georgia hired me, and the voters will be the one to fire me.’
